kevin martin writes "I don't know if the problem is to do with SQL Server 7.0, ASP or JavaScript.

if you would like to have a look at the site listed below and look under the javascript section and run the accounting system it will be easier to describe the problem.: -

www.stfb.com

I need to convert the dollar signs on this site into pound signs. Some of the dollar signs are a label created in design and have been changed, the problem is when you order.

For example: -

click go shopping in the menu on the left,
select food from the main menu,
select fruits from the main menu,
select banana from the main menu by clicking add to cart.

when the view shopping cart appears you will see the selected item appear with its cost in dollars, i need to change that to pounds. The total amount at the bottom is one of the design labels, its the table created that is the problem.

If you also look at the lists menu in the left and then select accounts this also needs changing.

I did consider that there maybe a problem with the installation of SQL Server 7.0 as the options were left at default. When I re-installed SQL Server 7.0 and chose custom install I changed the unicode to UK-English. When trying to attach a database via the query analyzer an error message appeared, stating: -

Server: Msg 1816, Level 16, State 1, Line 2
Could not attach the database because the character set, sort order, or Unicode collation for the database differs from this server.
