Hey Gang --

Off topic, but I'd thought I'd see if I can gather some info/input from the fellow sqlTeamers.

A client of mine needs to set up credit card processing for his website, which I've never done before.

We have very simple requirements: there's only one product they can buy, it's a one-time charge, and if the transaction is accepted you simply gain access to a download page. We'd like something low cost and easy to set up. He doesn't want to use paypal, he'd prefer an actual credit card payment.

Can anyone recommend a good vendor for this that you've worked with successfully in the past?

Thanks in advance !!!

- Jeff

I've worked with CyberCash (Verisign now) way back in the day.
I currently have a .Net project that uses Intellipay (http://www.intellipay.com) to signup for my conferencing service, http://www.televoxconferencing.com

There are LOTS of services out there. Most of them are pretty cheap, it's the banking fees that seem to be the most expensive part.

How much $$ volume are we talking here? Might be best to collect the data and process it manually with an existing credit card swipe machine in that guy's office.

Thanks, Michael..... I will try to find out more specifics on the expected volume of payments. That's a great point.

We've used a few, such as WorldPay. I've hated setting most of them up - putting soem stuff in hidden form fields just seems like an invitation for someone to hack them!

The XML ones to the Big Banks have been the easiest - and the most expensive for a Small Company.

Could they just use PayPal or NoChex?
