Hi all,

I am trying to find out how to uninstall SQL Server 7 from my WinME machine so that I can update to XP. When I run the install it says I have SQL Server 7.0 and need to remove it before installing XP.

Can anyone help with this? I have searched for how to do this but have not found an answer.

TIA.

I think you should manually clean up the Registry.

Well, I could give that a go. I just was not sure that I would be able to as I thought SQL Server would tie into the OS too much. Heck, anything can make ME unstable. ;)

Thanks.

You sure you want to upgrade dazz? If I was moving to XP from ME, there's no way I would upgrade. I would format the drive and just do a fresh install. If you don't, you'll never know what you're troubleshooting.

Ya, I was just thinking the same thing. I am going to be rebuilding another system, so perhaps I'll wait till it is done, transfer all the files over and then just format and install XP fresh on this box.

Thanks guys. I have seen the light! ;)
