Sarbanes-Oxley is a law in the US that companies that are registered with the SEC are required to follow. It deals with how information is tracked and protected that may eventually feed into financial systems. (That's my very vague understanding of it this point. I'm not very familiar with it yet.)

Here's some info from Microsoft about the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (or SOX as some call it). This is a press release about a tool that MS has put out to help companies, but it also gives an overview of what the issues are.

Besides the fact that SOX Sucks...it would be GREAT if they put some teeth in it and the corporation had to comply by a date or face penalties...

It'd be another 2k boom....
