toni writes "Hi I am looking for a graphical tool which would allow me to monitor SQL database usage. I would need to be able to see what users are using the most resources. Preferably in a chart of some sort. At the moment we are running SQL 7.0 with Neural Framework software as a front end for the users. When slow performance is encountered I use sp_who2 to see what the problem is. We have found that this does not necessarily indicate who is using the most memory. I also use current activity in the Enterprise Manager. I'd appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction for additional SQL performance monitoring tools. Either microsoft or third party vendors would be okay. Most important would be the ability to see which users are using the most resources at a quick glance. I have looked at Performance Monitor as well as SQL Profiler and perhaps you could suggest some things to monitor. I have not seen anything in the abouve tools that is user specific.T |
