It seems there's a lot of emphasis in SQLTeam forums on "getting more posts" now-a-days. Not much energy going into writing "new articles" any more. Some of the "newbie FAQs" might be better off if they pointed to articles rather than threads - IMHO , so topic matter isn't a problem. There is plenty of writing that could be done.If some of the energy which is currently being put into the threads could be diverted into articles, if for no other reason than to address the FAQs more clearly, maybe an incentive, e.g., $1,000 of hard US dollars , OK, maybe not... but how about bumping the author's post count a hundred points for an article? No? Would you believe a free SQLTeam coffee cup?A follow-up which should probably be another thread: Have BLOGS replaced the need for articles? Has blogging become a conduit which has made it so easy to post our thoughts the cause of article attrition on SQLTeam? It's easier to blog, and many of the posts are great. Are there any cons about blogging SQL solutions instead of submitting them as articles? |
