| planning sql 2008 cluster 3 nodes on win 2008 one node on DR site . replication on storage level to have identical set of disks on both sides. when im thinking about backups i encountering issue . if i will backup into disk with storage replication i will kill network . if will not use resources that have replication i will have issues with backups on DR side becuse i will not have same disks ( and even may need to remove dependecys so on DR we will have ability to bring it online ) If i use some shared folder on some central machine for backup so all nodes will see it again i kill network . was thinking even to use on all backup jubs somthing like \\localhost\backupfolder .so on diffrent nodes i will have diffrent actual folder . that means 3 set of disk , one fore every node tho ... ATM estimated data is 600gb so even with compress it will not be small. any pointer for how to attack this will be welcome :) one more thing i failed to find info about assesing the disk that i will need for backups any info on that can be nice as well "after you droped the DB you found out that you cant find the DB files ,you dont have any backups , and you found out that the missing DB was important and now you asking for my help " FUN FUN FUN |
