Hi,I am hoping to try a technique for getting a 64-bit version of SQL Server 2008 to talk to a 32-bit Excel 2007 file (using the 32-bit JET/ACE driver). It involves installing a 32-bit SQL Server Express instance to act as a proxy for accessing the file via the driver over OLE..However, I have fallen at the first hurdle. With all of Microsoft's installers I cant figure out how to force it to install a 32-bit version of SQL Server 2008 Express on to my Windows Server 2008 r2 machine that is already running SQL Server 2008 r2 64-bit.I have tried to use the installer once and it did not present an option to select the register-size. I powered ahead and the result appears to be another 64-bit instance of SQL Server Express. Can someone just reassure me that it is possible, that I'm being a pillock and then perhaps follow that up by explaining to me in "dummies" language what I should be doing..Thanks in advance,Tom |
