i played with vardecimal and it can shrink needed space a lot:

the only drawback which is logical is that you have to disable it if you want to restore the db to non sp1 server.

yeah... i know... but hell... i have no idea what to do about it anymore.

it seems that it's just for certain browsers like ie6.
my ie7 and ff2 and even opera work all ok...

what browser are you using?

upgrade is good for you.
ie6 is old and deprecated

you get all kind of goodies in ie7 like incremental search in comboboxes...

Tried IE7 a while back but uninstalled again since about half the websites I usually surf looked completely messed up. However, there will still be millions of people using IE6 for many years to come...a shame to rule so many out from your blog

but seriously... i have no idea why it's happening. i tried changing my post style etc but nothing really helped.
and changing the skin just isn't the answer.

i'll look into it again when i have some time...
