-- True story from the Hoover Dam construction. A "High scaler" was a worker that climbed high on the canyon walls to do construction work.
quote:
Perhaps the most famous feat any of the high scalers ever performed was a daring midair rescue. Burl R. Rutledge, a Bureau of Reclamation engineer, fell from the canyon rim. Twenty-five feet below, high scaler Oliver Cowan heard Rutledge slip. Without a moment's hesitation, he swung himself out and seized Rutledge's leg. A few seconds later, high scaler Arnold Parks swung over and pinned Rutledge's body to the canyon wall. The scalers held Rutledge until a line was dropped and secured around him and the shaken engineer was pulled, unharmed, to safety.

Oh yeah...the stories I could tell...

Once I was at my coworker's desk leaning against her cubical wall trying to see down here blouse, when a book fell off her shelf and nearly hit me...man, that was scary!

Is that the same warm fuzzy feeling you get when you are out on a client's site and asking for a disaster/recovery plan and they look at you and have no clue what you just said?
Especially when they call you to investigate their database environment...

Oh hell no, you should see what happens with fully-open blouses.

It’s the feeling you get when you ask a DBA job candidate to explain what a constraint is, and they look at you like your dog would if you asked the same question.

"Slightly open blouses are a leading cause of on the job injuries"

Do you have a different definition of "on the job" over there, to over here?
