I like this one:Upon 45 days written notice Oracle may audit the use of the program. You agree to cooperate with Oracle's audit and provide reasonable assistance and access to information. You agree that Oracle shall not be responsible for any of your costs incurred in cooperating with the audit.Oracle 10g XE is really a great product though. It remains to be seen if the open source community will start using it over MySQL though.-ec |

do they really take time to do those stuff?i mean, the user may just say, I haven't installed it yet or my hard disk crashed and decided not to evaluate and so on...I thought it was some kind of a joke, or is it?--------------------keeping it simple... |

this is interesting:quote: You are not a citizen, national, or resident of, and are not under control of, the government of Cuba, Iran, Sudan, Libya, North Korea, Syria, nor any country to which the United States has prohibited export.
So if there's an export restriction how can they have licenced sql servers in Iran?Go with the flow & have fun! Else fight the flow Blog thingie: [URL="http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/mladenp"] |

"I thought it was some kind of a joke, or is it?"It just gives them the right to charge you if they discover that you are charging for your application and lots of people are using it ... and Oracle aren't making any money out of you! Not altogether unreasonable, really ..."So if there's an export restriction how can they have licenced sql servers in Iran?"I'm sure they can apply for export licenses - on a case-by-case basis. Our multinational clients have bravado statements that mirror national requirements. Like "We do not honour country embargoes, but we may be choosy where we work" and "Can you produce a report for all countries excluding anything in South Africa during the Apartheid period" Kristen |

"Our multinational clients have bravado statements that mirror national requirements. Like "We do not honour country embargoes, but we may be choosy where we work" and "Can you produce a report for all countries excluding anything in South Africa during the Apartheid period" ......usually these get dumped/bypassed when there's (serious) money to be made... |

As an American, I just naturally assume that everybody else is an American until I find out otherwise. Occasionally we need to be reminded that the Sun passes over other countries between the time is sets in California and the time it rises in New York. But really, isn't everybody a little bit American? If that sounds WAY too egocentric, then remember that the United States is a little bit of every place else.I'm betting you have McDonalds over there in Slovenia... |

Well money stands above political interests and political interests stand above law and law stands above ideological ideas and ideological ideas stand above common sense, and everyone is willing to look the other way if it suits their interests.rockmoose |

We have people who dress up as giant chickens in our McDonald's... until they get arrested by 20 police officers (some in riot gear) and charged for aggrevated trespass. |
