I'm going to be in New York for the first time in about three two weeks (and counting). My question is this. I'm hoping to buy some electrical goodies e.g. digicam/pda that sort of thing. SO where are the places to avoid and the ones to head for?Not sure if it makes much difference but I'll be on 42nd street - is that good, bad or indifferent? Where are the places to go/avoidthankssteve-----------Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true! |

Steve,I almost never purchase my electronic gadgets from non-online stores. You don't have a reputable online store in the UK to purchase these types of things? I don't think I'd purchase them in NYC as they'd be over-priced.Brett is just a hop, skip, and a jump from you. You two should meet up for some cold, fizzy beer. Tara Kizeraka tduggan |

If I'm in Giants stadium, or MSG, I'll have a Bud (or 6)...please don't judge me so harshlyAt $7.50 a bud, you can mock me howeverDude! You coming to NYC? Get ready for some culture shock, and PM or email me...P.S. Just go to B&HPPS I love my DSLBrett8-)Hint: Want your questions answered fast? "You don't have a reputable online store in the UK to purchase these types of things?"Yup, but the US$ is really "weak" now, from UK perspective, so things look cheap over there.Kristen |

And they are (though maybe not in NY) as long as you don't get hit with a VAT bill when you come back into the country, and they can cope with the electricity When you guys say dear - don't forget we pay 17.5% tax on most things we buyNot sure I'm looking for anything specific, probably just gadgety stuff in general - faint possibility of convincing wiffy we need a laptop (anything to keep me away from womens clothes shops and large department stores) quote: Just go to B&H
What's B&H? quote: cold, fizzy beer
I always thought beer was supposed to be warm and flat Brett - are you sure you're close - it looks a fair way on the map?Anyone know if the cruise ship is likely to sail near the Statue of Liberty?steve-----------Facts are meaningless. No offense but its amazing to me that people waste that much money on beer. 7.50 for a beer? Are you kidding me? That is why 99% of my buddies or co-workers get a check on friday and come back to work monday complaining they have no money. If you spent 7.50 on a frigging beer of course you have no money for sane things like food! Keeping the web experience alive -- http://www.web-impulse.com |

Spirit that sounds expensive. I seem to recall paying around 70p per pint in Prague which equates to around $1.20 or so (and that was tourist prices), is the beer dearer in Slovenia? In my local pub I pay £1.20 per pint which is pretty good (both in price and taste) and is roughly $1.80steve-----------Facts are meaningless.
