So i am finally going to get around to creating forums for SQL Server 2008. My thought is to organize it the same way that the 2005 forums are organized.

should I create different forums? What forums?

Are there common topics in some of the larger forums that I could pull out into their own forums?

Maybe more detailed than 2005?

1. Compression
2. Sparse columns
3. T-SQL
4. New features / Enterprise Edition (including change tracking and resouce governor)
5. Administration
6. Failures (such as DBCC CheckDB)
7. XML only
8. SSIS
9. SSAS
11. CLR and spatial data

One suggestion would be to put the ssis, analysis services and reporting services forums into a group (may be sql 2008 business intelligence)

I second this one.. :), besides the other options suggested.

In Peso's list, for item 4 I would also add Polivy Basd Mgmt somewhere..

These are created. I setup fewer forums than for 2005. Some of the 2005 forums weren't used that much so they can roll into the Other Topics (2008) forum.
