I'm not sure which of these sounds crazier.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yak_polo
Yak polo (or sarlagan polo) is a Mongolian variant of the sport polo. It is played on yaks instead of on horseback.

Originally invented in the early 2000s as a tourist attraction, the sport is as of 2006 reported to have attracted a modest following in Mongolia. The Mongolian Association of Sarlagan Polo claims that the sport is booming, with four games a week being played in the summer of 2006.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yak_skiing
Yak skiing is a sport reportedly practiced in the Indian hill resort of Manali as a tourist attraction.

According to Time Magazine, it involves a skier waiting at the bottom of a slope and a yak at the top of the hill; yak and skier are connected by means of a rope going around a pulley at the top of the hill. To engage the yak, the skier must shake (and swiftly put down) a bucket of nuts. This attracts the yak, which charges downhill and pulls the skier upward by means of the rope.

Shhh, you wouldnt want anyone to catch on and industrailize it.
I have a feeling benefit is less the animal and more the process.
The process that turned cows into little more than an utter, and Bull into lots of yummy hamburger.

Ok let's think about this Yak at the top Skier at the bottom.

Yak runs downhill and skier gets pulled up.

At some point Possible Merge!!!!!

Yaks are bovine and a bulls response to something coming at them is to put their head down and charge.

Skier gets punted like a football.

Someone who has devised such a clever plan would have thought of the possible collision right

Some people prefer the collision. Maybe they are skiing uphill backwards.

most fun is to douse yourself with yak pheromones before skiing.
