This sounds too good to be true. 10 commercial licences of Office 2003, plus 1 of SQL 2005, lots of other stuff I don't care about. All for about $400.

Any caveats? Anyone ever done this? What's the catch? Spam forever?

My bud owns a small business, and is enrolled. You have to meet certain goals througout the year, or they downgrade you to poopy member. You cannot sell the licences, or deploy them with any solution you sell. Lots of legal mumbo jumbo.

Hi Sam! I knew there was a reason I stumbled back in here today... I guess it is to answer your question with my own experience. A few years ago I signed up for this, then just known as the Microsoft Action Pack Subscription. I have been very happy with it, other than having to find some place to store all the CDs you get. A small price to pay, I'd say.

It is the real deal. A couple of years ago, Microsoft made a real push to help "the little guy". They addressed the fact that they were giving all their technical expertise, resources, and deals to major software vendors and ignoring the small consulting and micro-ISV guys. So, they put together this package and now the more full Partner Program. It's a great way to entice more people to use their products and also to sell their products. They put out special guides on different products, for example, late last year as they were making the push to release Small Business Accounting, they sent out to all the Partner participants info on how to get up to speed on the product and how to sell it to your clients. There is also the benefit of a Partner directory, so, for example, if you didn't want to learn accounting, you could look up in the directory another partner who has a lot of expertise, and then do a joint project with them to help out your client who needs the product.

I have not really used it to its fullest extent, and I am only a "poopy" Registered Member, but I have gotten good value out of it and have renewed each year since I started.
