IMO no. When you treat these remarks with the tone they deserve, it usually just ends up as an ugly thread that eventually needs to be locked. I'm glad you were able to point out (in your response to him) that his problem was unrelated to the topic subject. You came off looking considerate and helpfull. It's those kind of posts that has given this site a reputation that made Parkstech's co-worker recommend sqlteam.com as a good resource.

I haven't seen a need for the "wave goodbye" emoticon much here, but this is definately an exception to that observation. :)
