I just finished reinstalling my home computer which was painfully freezing....I got DSL, restored the 'puter...and the damn thing flys.

It's faster than the office.

Maybe now I can catch a kizer....how is that a long i with out a second vowel?

A friend's PC was crawling. He installed Microsoft's "Anti Spyware" and it flew after removing a couple of unknown hijackers.

It's due to only one consonant between the i and e. If there were two zs, then it'd be pronounced kizz er. It's like how my maiden name is pronounced. Due to the two gs, it is pronounced dug gen, rather than doo gen.

well it's either 768k/128k or 3M/768k
they sure do have some weird speeds...
http://www22.verizon.com/ForHomeDSL/channels/dsl/packages/default.asp

we have 128k, 256k, 512k, 1M, 2M, 4M, 8M, 10M, 15M and 20M dowloads
uploads are of course smaller... usually by factor of 2 or 4.

Well, I'm just wondering that even if I ordered the 768k, if they only installed wires for 2mg that I'm gettin that.

I'll have to test a download tonight.

and then we can turn SQLTeam.com to LostFamiliesAndStuff.com

installed wires for 2Mb?? emmm wires are the same for 128k and 10M they're simple copper pair wires used for hundreds of years
it's the modems that are different.

What about fiber?

I'll look at the modem tonight...they gave me a combined wireless route/ modem...

It's funny, I had a verizon truck parked outside of my house working on this one pole all summer....

fiberoptics? well those are userd to link 2 digital phone centrals.
to them it's stil old copper pairs
fiberoptics are very cool if you ask me.
they have virtually unlimited potential for data transfer.
take N wavelengths (colors of lights) and multiply it by M (multiplexing one wavelength) and you get a lot of data capactiy
so the problems are in the hardware
