What about an ignore feature in the forums where you don't see the posts by certain members

What do you mean - just don't read them - self censorship will never work what will all the busy bodies do then!!! I just have to watch TV programmes that offend as I don't know how to change channel, and if I read something offensive I have to read it all in case I miss something

When you say "more clever than you"

I must be the "you" you're reefering to...got a light?

Wait, that was in a galaxy far, far away, a long, long, long time ago...

Anyone catch the extra long?

C# is pretty neat. It's been about 5 years since I used C++ and roughly 2 since I coded any Java but I am finding it pretty intuitive. I am starting slow. Downloaded the C# Express 2005 Beta 2 and I am working through the online help. In november when C# 2005 comes out and I am buying it. My old school ASP with VBScript skills just is not the cool thing anymore. I have the first beta of VS 2005 on my desk at home still in shrink wrap. If I finish all the Express stuff before November, I might pop it open.

back to the topic for a sec:

>>Why must we go through this again!?!?
Point taken, I'm done.

I'd feel a little better if Igor really used this site.
(to help and maybe even get help occasionally)

instead of simply pimping his own personal website.

"I'm at 500 now."

Yeah, I saw someone tell you about the 1,000 post threshold.

Did they tell you that first off Graz resets your counter back to 1?

He did that 17 times to me before I made 1,000 posts

Wow, that Igor thread certainly brought out the best in everyone.

Xerxes, I'll let you in on an SQLTeam secret.....

the more you ask about custom titles, the less likely you are to get one.

Also, I'm not sure where you get the idea that Tara runs things around here

Actually I like to think Tara "runs things around here" because she's always been kind to me as well as informative.

I think someone should tell Igor that there is no USSR anymore.

If Graz wants to set my counter back, that's OK. I'm not here to see how many posts I can make (I could've hit 1000 last year if I needed to----Marines ARE tenacious), I'm just here to learn.

I don't want a custom title I want my counter reset

There again - no one ever accused me of being normal

For what it's worth I think everyone should chill about Igor before it gets even more out of hand. I agree with TG - Igor should contemplate the TEAM part of SQLTeam

Exactly, Igor obviously has his own special little set of Igor issues and there is nothing we can do to change that.

However, he was asked to post his scripts here in one place, rather than link spamming, and he does. So nobody has to see them if they don't want to. You KNOW that if you reply, he's going to come back. If his posts aren't going to bring you enjoyment, don't encourage more.

If you don't like it, ignore it.

One day when we were in basic training about a 300 of us were set in a theater with a line of MPs in front of the stage.
A Russian officer in full uniform stepped out on the stage and a set of slides were displayed as the officer proceeded to tell us in poor English how great the Russian army was and how much better trained it was than us.
Needless to say the 300 GIs got all worked up and things got close to being out of hand. We all wanted to tear this guy apart.
Later that day I found out from a Spec4 I had made friends with that the Russian officer was really a US communications Officer and the whole thing was to work us up.
After telling this to my platoon we all felt like a bunch of idiots.

I learned that day that if someone is pushing your buttons (especially with something like patriotism or religion) it is not always what you think.

And Tara is only Queen Of SQL not the king, But we love her anyway.

The headmaster of my daughter's school gave a sermon recently. Half way through he apologised and said he had missed breakfast becaue of writing his sermon, and would the children mind if he had something to eat whilst giving the sermon? (Yeah, I thought to myself, like it would be OK for the kids to eat in Church!!!) saying he had bought a can of peaches with him.

He got the can out of his bag only to find it was dog food. Saying he was deperately hungry he opened the can and proceeded to eat the contents.

The kids were, of course, all about to throw up in the aisle ... but the theme of his sermon, as I'm sure you have guessed, turned out to be "not everything is what it seems"

You folks are just too funny!

For an education and entertainment value, nothing beats this site!

And, Merk, I never needed a custom title: I was proud to have been a Marine for 20+ years, and I'll carry "Gunnery Sergeant USMC (Retired)" with me to my grave -- and that's just fine with me!

Nevertheless, you folks are terrific!

Sure! I went back and read thru the original forum. Some pretty funny replies in there. I think my favorite insult (I think it was an insult): You can, but all over again it is necessary to learn to read. And still, you are assured that the woman, instead of the man (in America it is a lot of homosexuals) is necessary to you.

Hahaha.
