Our server was struck by the W32/Parite-A virus virus last night. Resolving this will require formating the HD.No idea how the virus got there. No browsing or email reading occurs on the server. I assume it was propigated from another server somehow. Any thoughts on this appreciated.Does anyone recommend a virus detection package to run on SQL server? I've looked into a couple of $1,000+ solutions for servers. I'm concerned about price, performance and service.Arghhh |

I checked with sophos.com and they've got a $1,000 / year server license. Trend Micro priced around $3,000 / year. Both claim their server version of virus software avoid scanning files on every file read by comparing checksums... files are only scanned the first time they're read, until a write changes the checksum on the file. |
