EFadul writes "I've had to reboot the box (Windows NT SP 6) that houses SQL Server 7.0. It probably has been 3 months since the last reboot. During the reboot, an NT message that 'a service failed to start' is displayed. When I try to manually start MSSQLServer using control panel/services, the message 'Error 1069 (The service did not start due to a logon failure)'. There are no other logons in the machine aside from the one used when SQL Server was installed.Any ideas? Thanks,Edpsos: Windows NT SP 6" |

If your passwords expire every couple of months, try reentering the password on the account. Go to Services, click properties for the Microsoft SQL Server service, and check the logon tab. There are entry fields for an account and password. Assuming this option is used, the password has to be manually updated everytime the NT account expires and demands a new password. |
