OK. I don't do SQL development any longer so I no longer poke my head in the best forum around.

So here I am again on account of a friend of mine that owns a MySql based website. They're trying to migrate the web to a new server and are having problems setting up MySql. Something about authorization, and that's not the only problem. They're moving to a new server because some of the queries are crawling. Sounds like an execution plan problem, not a server problem. They may be solving two different problems here. I'm not sure, and I don't support them myself.

Of course this isn't the right forum to post this kind of notice, but I always felt that the folks here generally knew their stuff. I was hoping that someone here might know MySql or recommend someone that does.

For time-zone and contact purposes, we would like the contractor to be in the US. Please email contact information off-list.

There! That's it! I'm gone now!

Best to everyone,

Sam

Since leaving this forum I've been doing client-side eLearning. I occasionally write Ajax/jQuery JavaScript which satisfies my interest in programming. The Learning Management System I once worked on is implemented in SQL 2008 and is serving courses for a few Federal agencies. It outperforms other LMS implementations in no small part because we implemented the logging and reporting in stored procedures and optimized the execution plans.

Not to steer you way from this site, but:

http://www.dbforums.com/

They have a MySQL forum, perhaps you'll get some interest there as well.
