Hi

I have a DB on an old PC with local installed SQL Server 2005. I want to export to DB on another machine with 2008 express but I need to do it by file I can copy across the network.

What's the best way?

Thanks

Backup/restore is the best way to move an entire database. Run a full backup on the 2005 server, copy the backup file to the 2008 server, then restore it.
